Shutters Specialist

Timeless shutters with real substance

Shutters are not a throwaway purchase, so the advice and measuring need to be right. We help you choose the right style for the room and the right material for the window, and make sure the finish looks smart for years to come. UK-made shutters are typically installed in 2 to 3 weeks and carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty, which suits new homes, move-in dates and front window upgrades. Imported shutters are still available where they are the better fit for budget, finish or specification.

Blind Screen® is made for bifolds, patio doors, wide openings and floor-to-ceiling glazing where ordinary blinds feel awkward. Choose privacy fabric, blackout fabric, thermal fabric, flyscreen mesh or a dual-track system that gives two functions in one neat unit. Moving into a new build? We plan the whole house room by room, from privacy blinds for overlooked windows to shutters, curtains, Romans and blackout options for bedrooms. Because Ria holds a CSCS card, site measuring may be possible before you move in, subject to the site manager's approval, so your blinds, shutters, curtains and Blind Screen® can be ready from day one.

Our Process

From first visit to final fitting

No pushy showroom routine and no guesswork. Ria arrives in Luther Van, our fully electric van, with fabric books, blind samples, shutter finishes and Blind Screen® options, so you see every option in your own rooms and your own light. You deal directly with Ria from the first conversation to the finished fitting, and many customers start with one room and go on to dress the whole home, at their own pace.

  1. Home visit & adviceWe come to you with samples, listen, and narrow down the right options for your room, style and budget.
  2. Accurate measuring & a written quoteEvery window measured carefully, with a clear written quote and realistic lead times before anything is ordered.
  3. Made to measure, fitted with careMade to your specification and fitted by our own careful fitter, who wears indoor shoes and leaves the room as tidy as it was found. Aftercare is there if anything needs attention.

About Ria

A new name, backed by years of experience

Ria's Interiors is a female-owned, local, independent business built on reputation, recommendations and doing the job properly. We are fully insured, almost everything we fit is made in the UK, including our Perfect Fit shutters, and if anything ever needs attention after fitting you speak to us, not a call centre. Selected evening and weekend appointments are available, and our Peterborough showroom is opening soon, with visits by appointment.

Before Ria's Interiors, Ria ran Ria's Ears, a small local business many people will remember, which donated nearly £5,000 to Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall in Peterborough and traded at major events including Glastonbury. The same care, trust and attention to detail now sit at the heart of Ria's Interiors. And if you spot two rescue dogs in some of our photos, that's Breeze and Carlos Alberto. They do not fit blinds, but they do keep the office cheerful.

Costs, fitting and timescales

Very. We wear separate indoor house shoes and take real pride in keeping installs tidy. We sometimes leave the area cleaner than we found it.

Because everything is made to measure, the price depends on the product, the size of the window, the fabric or finish you choose, the fitting required and the number of rooms. We do not work from a fixed price list. Ria measures accurately, talks through the options and gives you a clear written quote, so you know exactly what is included before you decide.

Lead times depend on the product and the supplier. Blinds are usually the quickest, while shutters and more bespoke pieces can take a little longer. Ria confirms a realistic timescale with your written quote, before anything is ordered, so there are no surprises.
