About our curtains

The fabric looks different in your room

A fabric that photographs beautifully in a bright studio can read flat in a north-facing bedroom, and once curtains are made and hung there is very little you can do about it. The home visit removes that risk: you hold the actual fabric against your walls, in your light, with your furniture in the room, and we help you co-ordinate curtains with made-to-measure blinds across the same room.

Because every pair is made to order, curtains take longer than off-the-shelf options. We give you a realistic timescale for your chosen fabric before you commit, and we are honest if a deadline looks tight.

  • Heading styles

    Eyelet, pencil pleat, wave, pinch pleat and goblet pleat, each with a different drape. Examples come to the visit.

  • Linings

    Unlined, standard lined, blackout lined or interlined for real weight, warmth and a fuller hang.

  • Poles, tracks & bay bends

    Supplied and fitted to suit the heading and the room, with fitting included in the price.

  • Sheers, voiles & Romans

    Sheer panels for daytime privacy, and Roman blinds made in the same fabric for a coordinated finish.

What happens at your home consultation

We bring the showroom to you. No showroom trip and no guesswork: here is how choosing curtains with Ria works, from the first visit to the finished hang.

  1. Full fabric books at your homeHundreds of options seen in your own light, against your own colours, with lining samples and heading examples alongside. Not a website, not a swatch card.
  2. Heading and lining adviceWe explain the practical difference between heading styles and linings, not to upsell but because it genuinely changes how the finished curtain looks and performs.
  3. Accurate measuring, honest adviceDrop, width, stack-back and return all matter, so Ria measures each window carefully and checks what is behind the wall before anything is drilled, especially in new builds with lintels or plasterboard above the window.
  4. A clear written quote, then careful fittingA written quote to consider in your own time, with no pressure. Our fitter hangs everything, wears indoor shoes, leaves the room tidy and comes back without fuss if anything needs adjusting.

Many curtain projects grow into something bigger: one home visit and one coordinated plan for curtains, blinds, shutters and door solutions throughout the house. Selected evening and weekend appointments are available.

Yes. If you are looking for curtain fitters near you, we provide a full curtain measuring and fitting service across Peterborough, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. We bring fabric books and samples to your home, measure your windows and tracks or poles, and advise on headings, linings and finishes. Your made-to-measure curtains are then supplied and fitted, so everything from fabric choice to final hanging is handled for you.

We offer eyelet, pencil pleat, wave, pinch pleat and goblet pleat headings. Each gives a different look and drape. We will bring examples to the home visit so you can see the difference before choosing.

Yes. We offer unlined, standard lined, blackout lined and interlined curtains. Interlining adds real weight and warmth and gives the curtain a much fuller, more substantial hang. We will talk you through the options at the consultation.

Yes. We make curtains for windows of all sizes including bay windows, floor-to-ceiling glazing and wide openings. Everything is measured and made to your exact dimensions, not adapted from a standard size.

Yes. We can advise on and supply poles, tracks and bay window bends as part of the consultation, and fitting is included in the overall price. We make sure the hardware suits the heading style and the room.
