BlindScreen® is a retractable screening system made for bifold doors, patio doors and large glazed openings: the places where ordinary blinds tend to struggle. How It Works

How BlindScreen® works,
in plain English

Think of it as a screen of fabric that glides across your opening when you want it, and retracts tidily to the side or top when you do not. The fabric is held in a frame fitted around the opening, so it stays taut and neat across spans where a normal blind would sag, flap or rattle. You choose what the fabric does: privacy, blackout, thermal or insect mesh. The system is then measured to suit the specific opening, including the frame, handles, threshold and fitting position.

Because every opening is different, exactly how it fits your doors, which configuration suits the space and whether it can be fitted to your existing frames all need to be confirmed for your doors. The Options

The system is the same; the fabric decides what it does for you. Most people choose based on the room, not the spec sheet.

Privacy

You can see out, but people outside cannot easily see in. The everyday choice for living spaces that are overlooked by neighbours or a road: the room stays light without feeling on display.

Blackout

For proper darkness behind big glazing: bedrooms with patio doors, media rooms, or anywhere a bright morning arrives earlier than you would like.

Thermal

Designed to help manage heat and glare through large panes, keeping rooms more comfortable in strong sun. How much difference it makes depends on the opening and the room, which Ria will talk through honestly at the consultation.

Insect mesh

A fine mesh that lets air flow through freely while keeping flies, moths and other insects out, so the doors can stand open on a warm evening without the room filling with bugs.

This is the use that wins most people over. British summers are short, and the evenings when you actually want the bifolds wide open are exactly the evenings the insects want to come in. With the insect mesh fabric drawn across an open doorway, the air moves through but the flies stay outside: dinner with the doors open, lights on after dark, and no moths circling the ceiling light.

It suits kitchens and dining spaces that open onto the garden, and it is one of the few solutions of any kind that lets a large glazed opening stay genuinely open without compromise. not the right answer

No product suits every opening, and we would rather tell you that here than after you have spent money. Some openings are not suited to the system. Whether yours is depends on the frame, the space around the opening and how the doors operate, and this needs to be confirmed for your doors. Some rooms are better served by a simpler, less expensive option. And if what you mainly want is a soft, decorative finish rather than screening, curtains or shutters may make you happier.

This is genuinely how the consultation works: Ria will check your opening, listen to how you use the room, and recommend BlindScreen® only where it is the best answer. If another product makes more sense, she will say so.
